I like going to the Riverfront park as often as possible. I sometimes walk along the river or ride my bicycle. On Saturdays during the Spring and Summer months, the Farmer's Market takes place and I sometimes busk down in that area. It's a pretty vibrant air during that time. Even during the winter months, the river walk can be interesting. If you're a photographer, it's a good place to take pictures of the public art, the flowers and trees, the bridges and of course, the main star, the Willamette River...if you're lucky you'll see the Oregon State rowing team going through their paces. Along the trail there are signs posted where you can learn about Corvallis history and near the bridge, there is an historic marker showing where the first riverboats came to the city. The park is very pet and kid friendly, too.

This 2-day music event takes place along the Willamette River in downtown Corvallis at the Riverfront Commemorative Park. Blues music bands perform while festival attendants enjoy food and drinks or dance in the street. The festival ends with the annual fireworks show set off on the banks of the Willamette River.

This award winning park highlights the Willamette River and downtown Corvallis. There is an interactive fountain, artwork, picnic areas, skate park and a seasonal Saturday farmers market. There are also shops and art galleries with in close walking distance. I honestly can say that a great summer afternoon involves some friends and some food under the bridge by the river. This is a simply beautiful stretch that is a must for people visiting and living in the area
