Can't agree more with the other review here. Aomatsu is hands down the best sushi place in Corvallis (there is one other sushi place in the Corvallis-Albany area).
The fish is fresh, the aromas of ginger-soy-wasabi are intoxicating and the atmosphere is good. My personal faves here are the Newport roll and spicy tuna rolls.
The place is popular with OSU students and their families...so get here early on Friday and Saturday nights. Couple of things to watch out for: 1) if you're a big fan of ginger and wasabi, be sure to ask for extra up front..they can be a bit sparring at times! 2) At times when they're busy, wait times can be long and the waitstaff not as attentive...
Despite the few negatives, we always make it a point to hit Aomatsu at least once a month!

I actually spent a long time trying to find a great sushi place in Corvallis, when I accidentally stumbled across this place Halloween night with a few friends. This is by far the best sushi place in Corvallis, hand rolled right in front of you. They also have the large cooking tables were they will cook your food on a grill right in front of you. If you are not the biggest sushi fan have no fear because there is a wonderful regular menu. This place is simply fantastic I would recommend it as one of the top 5 restaurants in Corvallis, and if your like me and enjoy a drink with your meal try some of the Sake, I was pleasantly surprised.
